(O) Safety Issues

Is it safe to travel to Israel?

For anyone who watches the news, Israel appears to be an extremely dangerous place. And, in some parts of the country, that might be true. The vast majority of Israel is safer than major urban areas in the United States. Statistic records show that Israel is one of the safest countries in the world for tourists to visit.

The violence and terrorism that has occurred in Israel has been centered in very specific areas and at very specific times. We have taken steps to avoid places and times where violence has occurred:

We take the safety of the group very seriously, and we expect all tour participants to follow these precautions.  Behave in Israel the way you would in those cities. Be careful where you go at night and travel in groups when possible.

So why do I hear that traveling to Israel is not necessarily safe?

Today’s media rarely portray the reality in Israel. What is the reality?

First, that millions of people in Israel live perfectly normal lives: they send their children to school, go to work, eat in restaurants, go to movies, meet with friends - in short, they live lives just like yours.

You will discover that visiting Israel is in fact a safe, enjoyable and uplifting experience. Just ask someone who as been to Israel recently - and than come and see for yourself.
