TO GREECE
Afternoon Flight
from New York (or Home Country) to Athens, Greece.
Day #2
ATHENS
Arrive Athens at noon. Enjoy a tour of Athens, the capital of Greece. Then visit
the world famous Acropolis, including the Parthenon, Erectheum,
Propylaea, and Mars Hill, where Paul gave his famous speech to the Athenians. Lunch in
Chinese restaurant.
Overnight
in Athens.
Day #3
ATHENS,
CORINTH
Drive by the
historic Bay of
Salamis and Saronic Gulf to
CORINTH.
Crossing the
breath-taking
Corinth Canal,
and
passing the old port of
Cenchrea,
we arrive at Ancient
Corinth.
Paul lived here for 18
months
establishing the church,
while
engaging in tentmaking
with
Aquila and Priscilla. Visit
the
Bema or Judgment Seat,
where
Paul appeared before
Gallio,
brother of the Stoic
philosopher
Seneca and tutor of
Nero.
LUNCH:
Greek Lamb meal
Take
the Argolis tour in
southern
Corinth, to see ancient
kingdom
site of King
Agamemnon.
Sing at the
acoustically
perfect Epidaurus
Theatre,
ancient medical center.
The
apostle most probably
visited
here during his long stay
in
Corinth.

Day #4
AEGEAN
SEA CRUISE
A
refreshing cruise on the
Aegean
Sea, as we study how
the
Gospel entered Europe. On
our
first day at sea, we travel
southeast
through the mythical
chain
of Greek islands ("The
Cyclades"),
with thousands of
years
of history. The apostle
Paul
often crossed these seas.
Our
luxury cruise ship arrives at
the
island of Mykonos. Tour
world-famous
Mykonos, with
its
hundreds of tiny chapels,
windmills,
and houses with
flower-filled
balconies. Enjoy
beautiful
sunset at waterfront.

Day #5
KUSADASI,
EPHESUS, PATMOS
Disembark
from ship in
Kusadasi
famous for its flea
market
shopping. Nearby is
Ephesus,
where the apostle John
pastored
and where Paul had
his
longest ministry. Visit the
basilica
of St. John and house of
Virgin
Mary.
Visit
Patmos, the "Jerusalem of
the
Aegean Sea." Here John
the
apostle
was exile and wrote the
Revelation.
See the monastery
of
St. John Theologos, with its
stunning
panoramic view of the
luminous
sea. Visit the cave
where
John wrote the
Apocalypse.

RHODES
Ship
arrives at Rhodes Island.
Visit
Rhodes. Paul visited this
large
island on his third
missionary
journey. At its
ancient
harbor, was the
towering
bronze statue of
Apollo,
one of the seven
wonders
of ancient world.

ISLAND
OF CRETE, SANTORINI
Paul
was on Crete Island,
before
his stormy journey to
Rome.
Visit Heraklion (Crete),
which
was the center of Minoan
civilization
4,000 years ago.
Tour
Santorini, the unique
island
considered to be the lost
continent
of Atlantis. High sheer
cliffs
rise from the seas. (Shore
excursions
are optional).

Day #8
THESSALONIKI,
BERIA
Ship
docks at Piraeus, Athens
harbor.
Drive to Thessaloniki,
to
which Paul wrote two
epistles
with emphases on
prophecy.
Visit the city’s Arch,
Museum.
Lunch:
Chinese meal. Visit to
Beria,
where the believers were
called
"more noble," because
they
studied God's Word.

MACEDONIA,
PHILIPPI
Drive
to Philippi, the first city
Paul
landed in Europe, and
where
he and Silas were
imprisoned.
Across was Troy:
Paul’s
Macedonian vision. Visit
modern
seaport of Kavalla..

ATHENS,
ROME
Early
morning flight
to
Rome, the "Eternal City."
Tour
St. Peter's Basilica--the
largest
church in the world, the
Vatican
Museum and Gallery,
and
its "crown jewel": the
Sistine
Chapel. We continue to
St.
Peter's Basilica and view
Vatican
City. City tour of Rome.
LUNCH:
Chinese meal.
Overnight
in Rome.
Day #11
ROME
Visits
to the Coliseum; St.
Paul's
Basilica, one of the
wonders
of the world; St. John
Lateran
, with its statues of the
Twelve
Apostles; and the
Church
of St. Peter-in-Chains
with
the famed statue of Moses
by
Michelangelo.
LUNCH:
Chinese meal.
Travel
on the Old Appian Way
(with
the Church of Domine
Quo
Vadis). Enter and worship
in
the Catacombs, where
millions
of early Christians
were
buried under the city.
Evening
visit to beautiful Trevi
Fountain.
Overnight: Rome.
Day
#12
ROME,
POMPEII, CAPRI
Early
morning drive south to
Pompeii,
the city suddenly
buried
under Mt. Vesuvius' fiery
eruption
in B.C. 79. The
excavated
city shows how the
Roman
people had lived during
the
Early Church.
In
the afternoon, we go to
Sorrento,
a place of legendary
beauty,
immortalized in song
and
literature. Here the Roman
emperors
came for vacation.
Nearby
is the place where Paul
the
prisoner came ashore from
his
trip over the Mediterranean.
Use
the hydrofoil to Capri, the
“Mermaid
Islands.”
We
return to Rome, retracing
Paul's
steps into the ancient city.

Rome.
Day #13
HOMEWARD
BOUND
Morning
flight home,
arrive in New York.
With
renewed strength and
cherished
memories, we have
heard
the Apostle’s
call—“Follow
me, as I follow
Christ”
(1 Cor. 11:1)
