Why is the Rapture Described as “Mystery”?
I Corinthians 15:51 says “Behold, I shew you a mystery”.
The word mystery is from the Greek word "musterion" used 27 times
in the New Testament. The NT
usages does not give the idea of something mysterious or baffling, but
something unheard of and unrevealed. The rapture is a brand-new New
Moreover, during Old Testament times, people thought there was no way out
of life except through death. Everyone
expected ultimately to die. But now Paul calls all Christians to wait for
something other than death: the Rapture.
