Church of Thyatira
This is a rich city, noted for its color dyes. It was probably evangelized
by the Ephesian church.
"Thyatira" means "continual sacrifice." It denotes the
Dark or Middle Age, with its Roman Catholic doctrine of the Mass.

2:18 ...his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like
fine brass
Christ's burning passion, as He saw the corruption of His church. In
keeping with the seriousness of the situation, Christ is called the Son of
God, rather than the Son of Man (cf. 1:13-15).

to teach and to seduce my servants
