[Revelation Ch.14: Heavenly Announcements] IV. The Doom Of Beast Worshippers
Here the vision contrasts the eternal results for the beast worshippers
and for God's worshippers. REV
14:9 If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his
mark...The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God...and he shall
be tormented with fire and brimstone...And the smoke of their torment
ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night God foretells the eternal hopelessness of those who worship the beast. Temporary comfort might be enjoyed under the beast, but eternal hell is the destiny of those without Christ. It will never end, and the suffering will be conscious ("no rest"). REV
14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write,
Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the
Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow
them. For those who should die in the Lord, there is "rest" from earthly labors, and rewards continue to follow them. God is so generous and appreciative of His servants' works that when His saints die, they do not cease working. Their works continue to earn eternal rewards.
