[Revelation Ch.7: The 144,000] Introduction
We come to an interlude in the consecutive events of the Seal, Trumpet,
and Bowl Judgments. It is a parenthetical description--also occurring
during the tribulation--that relates to the first half of the tribulation
period.
Many cults and false teachers have made the 144,000 fit their own scheme
of religious belief. They interpret it to be their own circle of
believers, excluding all others. This chapter, however, describes two groups of people who will be saved during the Great Tribulation. And together, they comprised the entire world's saved believers. They are a group of 144,000 Jewish preachers and the uncounted multitude of their Gentile converts.
