[Revelation
Ch.5: Christ and the Scroll]
II.
The Heavenly Search
REV
5:2-5 Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals
thereof? And no man...was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
And I wept much...And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold,
the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed... to
loose the seven seals thereof.
No one was found worthy to open the seals, that is, to initiate judgment
on others. John weeps because of the futile search. But one of the 24
elders told him not to weep, because the Lion of the Tribe of Judah
(Christ) had triumphed and is worthy to break the seals (cf. Isa. 11:1).
