[Introduction to Revelation] III. Date
The widely accepted date for this book is during the harsh reign of
Emperor Domitian (A.D. 81-96). The church father had placed the exile of
John during Domitian's reign. The on-going persecution of Christians had
produced faithful believers, as well as complacency and defection.
