[Daniel Ch.10: Invisible World's Warfare] II.
The Delay Explained (10:12-14)
DAN
10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one
and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help
me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
The angelic messenger explained that he was detained in conflict with the
demonic "Prince of Persia" for 21 days.
Bible revelation tells of ranks and orders of angels (cf. Eph.
1:21). Satan imitates this order with high-ranking demons assigned over
earthly kingdoms and governmental systems. Since it was the Persian period, this demonic representative of Persia was top ranking officer in demonic affairs on earth. He tried to hinder God's messenger from getting to Daniel near the Tigris River. The battle lasted for three weeks, until Michael came to help. And as Michael fought this evil prince, the angelic messenger proceeded to deliver his message to Daniel.
